Where we focussed our support in 2020

The Pinnacle Charitable Foundation made total donations of $325,000 in 2020, which was been increased by Affiliate donations of $180,000. This $500,000 has primarily supported 10 dedicated partners, and has been hugely important in such a difficult year when many faced increased demand for services at the same time as losing access to funds and volunteers.

In addition, in February 2020 the Foundation and Pinnacle each matched employee donations from across the Group in support of bushfire relief across Australia. Together with generous Affiliate donations, just over $50,000 was distributed to help rebuild and revive shattered lives, communities, environments and animal populations.

Working across five core focus areas, the Foundation’s mission continues to be based on “fostering long-term viability across the not-for- profit sector by supporting the capacity of strategic partners to drive sustainable change in their communities”.

Key themes are regularly reviewed, and are currently the following:

  • strong mental wellbeing, together with support for prevention and early intervention strategies aimed at reducing mental ill health;

  • domestic violence recovery through legal support, together with policy advocacy on behalf of sufferers;

  • engagement and professional help for children facing acute and / or systemic disadvantage;

  • highly specialised medical research; and

  • projects addressing the long-term impacts of COVID-19
