The NFP sector in the year ahead

“Charities need to play a much more prominent role in national policy formation, not because we have needs, but because we have solutions.

At their best, charities change the world, making it a better, safer, more connected and sustainable place for all of us. In Australia we have already seen the critical role played by charities in responding to COVID-19. The role of charities post COVID-19 will be no less important and has the potential to shape the kind of communities we all live in”. David Crosbie, CEO, CCA (Community Council for Australia)

Barry Bicknell, Chair of the Pinnacle Charitable Foundation, sees an increasing role for philanthropy in 2021: “This year the Foundation intends to expand its commitment to the NFP sector, working together with Pinnacle and the company’s Affiliated fund managers.

The Board’s vision - to foster ‘an increasingly clever, creative and compassionate Australia’ – is more important than ever as we continue to navigate the longer term impacts of COVID-19, and rebuild the health, social and economic fabric of our society.

The Foundation’s hope and intention is to join with many dedicated individuals, institutions and companies across Australia, to play a small part in helping the incredibly vibrant and important NFP sector continue to not only survive, but thrive”.
